Early 1970s Vintage 5-String Morris Banjo - Made In Japan - Gorgeous:
$675.00

I have for sale an incredible instrument. It is an early 1970s vintage Morris banjo, made in Japan. This is a killer instrument...it is no toy. It weighs in at nearly 12 pounds...all parts are cast... And, it is LOUD! :-)

The instrument is absolutely beautiful and in great shape. All the chrome is nearly perfect. All castings are in great shape. It has: MOP fret markers on its beautiful ebony fretboard, vintage Schaller 4:1 planetary tuners with matching 5th string peg tuner (in perfect condition), inlaid peg head, new REMO Fiberskyn head, new compensated Golden Gate bridge, replaced solid brass chrome-plated clamshell tailpiece (same as original). It is strung with a new set of Gibson Earl Scruggs 9.5s. It was upgraded with a hand cut and fitted bone nut. The resonator and neck appear to be luscious mahogany. The resonator has an MOP inlay of an eagle [?]. The inlay is rare in these banjos. The resonator is in excellent condition as well. Twin rod adjusters make setting up the action a breeze.

This banjo did have a professionally-done head repair that is stronger than the original wood. It was done by Paul Jollineau...a certified guitar luthier. It also has a 1/4\" chip out of the binding at the nut. I have replaced it with a near-matching piece of maple. The original binding, like most, was of plastic. The back of the neck also has a small indentation about half way up it. It will not affect playability. You can see it in the photos. Please do ask if you have any questions.
Comes with a nearly new, plush lined Roadrunner hard shell case...has its straps and stelling, ome, vega, gibson, gold tone, huber, hatfield, bart reiter, washburn, bacon & day, ode, nechville, louzee, fender, wildwood acoustic, mike ramsey, bob flesher, bellbird, lida, american made banjo company, grundy banjos, chick lee, J. Romero, Fontaine USA, CB Guitars, cloverick, recording king, aria, crafters of Tennessee, hendricks banjos, Huss and Dalton, capek bluegrass, cedar mountain, eucalyptus banjos, seeders banjos, hopkins, bean blossom, desert rose, gold star
