An Eastern Woodland Indian (Native American) crooked knife, constructed in maple, with attractive, well-executed chip-carving. The blade is a reused straight razor blade, I think, held in place with copper wire wrap, and set at a strong angle from the axis of the handle. From the oxidation of the surface, and the rust marks around the nail heads, it appears to be late nineteenth or early twentieth century. Overall length is 9 9/16\". Blade length is 3 9/16\".
