An extremely rare version of this highly collectible fly reel. I\'ve spoken on a # of occasions with Hoagy Carmichael about this reel and he said that he has never seen this model in person before.It is brass with an aluminum foot and side plates. It sports a side slide click I have been told that this reel is shown in catalogs but has not shown up until this point. Well here it is !!! It came straight from an estate sale in Massachusetts which i attended. An antique dealer who got into the house before me bought the box of reels. I offered to buy just this one but they wanted to put all the reels on . Well i followed it and bought all of them off of for less than what i offered them for the one. That said i know for sure that this super reel is fresh out of the field.It is in outstanding tight working condition.I am not a reel expert but from my conversations this fly reel would grade an easy ex. and could clean to even better. My camera is not the best but it is clearly marked H.L.LEONARD PAT 191813 .THE FUNNY THING IS IT IS DOUBLE STAMPED obviously an error.
