Ernst Heinrich Roth Violin Amati 140R in used but Great ConditionThis violin was purchased from a woman who was born in 1919 and received this violin on her 7th birthday. A new fingerboard, sound post, bridge, chinrest, tailpiece, and pegs have been installed. And a 2 inch top crack (which is directly next to the bass bar, not the sound post and does not reach the edge) has been repaired. All repairs were done by an expert luthier at The Violin Shop in Nashville, TN. This powerful sounding \"Grand Amati\" Roth violin is set up for the professional player but would make a great gift for an advanced student as well. It definitely stands out amongst other violins with really nice one piece back. It is brand stamped, has the proper label for this model, and has been authenticated by two luthiers. The 140R model is followed by the 1R (1714 Strad) in the EH Roth 1924 catalog but this particular model has always reminded me of some of the Eugen Meinel Roth shop violins of the same time period. The label for 140R Roth\'s do not list the year of make, but provenance of this violin proves it\'s age. And this particular model was made in the 1920\'s and 1930\'s based on the 1924 and 1932 catalogs. Violin will be shipped and packed very well for protection.
