It was manufactured by Uniden America for Regency Electronics. The Regency R4030 is the same scanner as the Uniden Bearcat BC200XLT. The R4030 is only slightly different in appearance, and obviously it carries the Regency Electronics name tag. Uniden America is a world-leading manufacturer of scanner communications equipment, and other consumer electronics. Regency Electronics was later known as RELM (Regency Electronics, Land and Mobile).This REGENCY R4030 is pre-owned, but is in excellent to near mint physical condition overall. The scanner has no cracks, no damage, no physical defects. The cabinet is in great shape with only minor hairline scratches - hardly noticeable. I programmed frequencies into all 10 banks, and the scanner works like a charm - loud and clear. Please note that there is a little bit of audible scratchyness with the ON/OFF/VOLUME dial. It\'ll most likey disappear in time with normal usage, but recommended is a drop or 2 of DeoxIT Oil to clean out and lubricate the dial inside. The scanner works great on all bands (see frequency coverage below).The battery pack has no problems, works perfect, and will last up to 5+ hours on a full charge.You can also use the scanner fully with a compatible 500mA, positive-tip AC Adapter/Charger (not included), plugged into the battery\'s AC Power/Charger port on the rear while it\'s charging. Normal charging time is 14 to 16 hours. If you use the scanner while it\'s charging, the charging time will be lengthened.Frequency Coverage:
