These are our NEW PRODUCTION FACTORY RE-RELEASED SATIN/AGED/BURNISHED OR POLISHEDFINISHED knobs (the one on the left is the ORIGINAL MACEY UNTOUCHED KNOB, the 2nd knob is the Polished finished knob with Dimensions, the 3rd knob is the Satin finished knob, and the 4th or last knob on the right is the Aged & Burnished finished knob). THE SATIN KNOB HAS A MORE UNIFORM MATCHING SMOOTH FINISH. THE AGED/BURNISHED KNOBS HAVE VARIATIONS IN FINISH COLOR AND TEXTURE WITH WHAT APPEAR TO BE SMALL IMPERFECTIONS DUE TO AGE. The Satin knob is for more of a clean exacting matched to one another finished look. The Aged/Burnished finished knobs look just like aged antique originals- as reported in response from buyers. The Polished knob is a wonderful bright eye catching knob. It was most used on the mahogany stained styles of all woods available but can be used on any factory finish depending on your particular design taste. THESE NEW RE-RELEASED KNOBS ARE MUCH EASIER INSTALLED IF THE DOOR IS PER-DRILLED WITH A 5/32\" BIT IN A HAND DRILL, AND THEN DRILLED DOWN 3/8\". IT MAKES PENETRATING THE 100 YEAR OLD OAK MUCH EASIER. THE ROD IS NOT RECESSED IN THE USUAL GROOVE ALONG THE TOP RAIL AND THE TOP OF THE DOOR HAS THE FELT FOR THE HERMETICAL SEAL. IT IS ESSENTIALLY A FACTORY MODIFIED GLOBE WERNICKE DOOR. THE MARRIAGE OF MACEY TO GLOBE WERNICKE PRODUCTION. THE FIRST OF ITS KIND AND POSSIBLY THE BEST DESIGN. WHAT IS PERTINENT IS THAT THE MACEY DOORS ALL HAD GEAR ASSEMBLIES WITH A ROD UNTIL THE 711 UNITS OR AROUND THE 1920s TO 1930\'s. OWNERS OF MACEY UNITS WILL RECOGNIZE THE GEAR AND ROD ASSEMBLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY THEIR UNITS AS MACEY IF THERE IS ANY DOUBT. ONLY MACEY USED THESE ASSEMBLIES. THESE UNTOUCHED ORIGINAL KNOBS ARE FOR THE DISCRIMINATING MACEY-Globe Wernicke® COLLECTOR/RESTORER. THE SALE IS FOR 1 (ONE) ORIGINAL 100+ YEAR OLD production knob (IN YOUR CHOICE OF STYLES) from the actual MACEY-Globe Wernicke® Corporation. THESE KNOBS ARE EXACTING FACTORY ORIGINALS, UNTOUCHED, NATURALLY AGED, TARNISHED FROM USE, UNCLEANED, WITHOUT PAINT OR SIGNIFICANT DEFECTS, TAKEN OFF ORIGINAL MACEY OR WERNICKE-MACEY® PRODUCTION DOORS (NOW ONCE AGAIN THE Globe Wernicke® USA Corporation). Each door knob will have aged differently and will be unique unto itself. The buyer will have to decide how to clean or leave \"as is\" the knob. We will not touch the finish on the knob. They will be taken straight off original MACEY doors and shipped straight to you. IF SO DESIRED YOU MUST SPECIFY OTHER ORIGINAL MACEY KNOB STYLES OTHER THAN THE \"HOUR GLASS\" SHAPED KNOB PRIOR TO SHIPPING.
