19th century Chinese Cantonese carved genuine shell card case. c1880
Description: A beautifully carved card case made of shell. C1880. Fine detail to figures, pagodas and hanging foliate. It is extremely light for the size due to shell material. Weighs just over 2oz.Condition: Superb with a lid that fits perfectly both ways with a seamless flow of the design. This is a mark of superb craftsmanship. There is a pinhead size hole in the bottom which is invisible from the outside, can see light from inside, I assume for drainage. Email for more details or photos.
