Flugelhorn; Triebert by Couesnon: $600.00
This is a recently restored flugel that I intended to never sell, but medical issues have ended my playing career. The horn was found in the bowels of the shop I currently work for and was a project that I had to finish. It was disassembled and dents were removed although the bell flair and rim were never damaged. The valves were rebuilt by Anderson\'s in Elkhart Indiana, which is about a $300 job retail. The only real marks on the horn are three punch marks on the 3rd valve casing, easily seen in the two photos. Anderson\'s called and said the casing was flared and only way to get it back to cylindrical was to punch it back in and then fit the piston. It shows, but the valves are flawless and the horn plays like a dream. Triebert is a name owned by Couesnon and they imported these horns under that name until they realized the horns were setting the American Jazz standard for tone. They then started putting Couesnon on them; it does say \"140\" on side of valve casing and \"N\" on the other side, just like the Couesnon Star models. It is in raw brass and has started developing a nice patina. It ships with a Blessing 4 mouthpiece and no case. Horn is all original except for new valve buttons. This is a real players horn at an affordable price! Has that smokey tone Couesnon\'s are known for and no intonation issues! USA only and Happy offerding!
