Hi There, I am selling a rebuilt Ford 226 straight 6 flathead engine. As the photos show it has all of the accessories with it and some of them have also been rebuilt. I received this with the purchase of a 47 Ford truck project and I am going go with a V8 instead of the 6 cylinder. I have only hooked up a battery and spun it over once to see if it had oil pressure and it hit 10 lbs with just the starter spinning it. I sprayed some ether down the carb and it sputtered so I believe it would run. I was told that it is all standard and only has new bearings, rings, gaskets and seals and valve guides. The guy I bought it from said everything was tank cleaned, honed and had a valve job.Please note that I cant guarantee this because I have never seen it run.I believe the gentleman I purchased it from was telling me the truth. Yes, the aluminum timing cover was polished and buffed so it shines nicely. Yes, It comes with the attached starter plate, flywheel and bell housing, I have no need for them.It will be shipped upright, on a pallet covered with shrink wrap. I don\'t know what year it is but it is the \"H\" series between 1948 and 1951???? I will have to drain the oil for shipping so you will need to put your oil back in it before you start it. Hi There, I want to reiteratethat this was someone else\'s project that I purchased with a truck and I did not build this motor. In one of the boxes were some box ends that are for parts that are in the engine. The personI purchased it from said that there were more parts than what the box ends show but I didn\'tsee any more. The engine was cleaned honed (standard) and the crankshaft was polished (standard). New valve guides, freeze plugs, etc.
If you want , you are welcome to come to Indianapolis and pick it up. No charge for picking it up! It is on a basic pallet for shipping
