Franklin L Beckam Crawford County GA Alkaline Glaze Stoneware Jug Marked \"FLB\": $1490.09
For sale is a single handle Franklin LafayetteBecham 1871-1958,Mottled Olive Brown, Beehive or WatermelonShape11\"Alkaline Glaze Stoneware JugStamped \"FLB\" on the Upper Loop of the Handle. FLB\'s Brother Jackson Columbus \"Jack\", Father Washington \"Wash\" and Uncles are all Identified as \"Jug Makers\" in the Crawford County census. According to the Smithsonian American Art Museum Biography, FLB stopped working as a potter around 1918 and his work is considered \"RARE\" or Hard to Find. The Piece is in Excellent Condition showing onlyone small mark on the middle of body and only slight wear on the mouth of the jug. The Glaze is in perfect condition withno cracks or spider webs. Truly a Beautiful Work of Art and History.
