G969) 19th.Cent. Copper Luster Pitcher Unusual Designs & Pink, Blue Flowers

Measuring 4 ½” tall by 3” across by 4 ½” from theoutside of its handle to the outside of its spout, this 19th.century copper luster pitcher is special, even unique in its unusual molded pebble-likedesigns on its spout, rim, & upper handle. The painted line at the top& even the bands of molded cords just below the top & above the bottomof the pitcher are somewhat standard in the production of pitchers. The spacewhich encircles the pitcher between those bands, however, is exceptionallypainted w colorful larger pink flowers w many petals & white centersarranged above & below the intricate yellow green vine which meanders above& below those same flowers as one continuous vine. Its many bright greenleaves vary in size & stages of growth; several of them have dark spotswhere they have lost some of the tops’ green layer, revealing the dark brownunderneath which also outlines the green leaves. There are also smaller whiteflowers which have pale blue marks crossing in the middle of each one. Just adelightful example of an exceptional & dainty copper luster pitcher. Theoutside of the spout’s tip is worn, but the handle’s top thumb holder &its corresponding one just below it eachhave a 1/16” “chip”. Its base has a bit of debris from the firing. Inside is abright white. A most special example indeed.
