About Us Paul B. Moyer was born December 23, 1902 in Bedminster township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the seventh child of George B. and Eva L. (Beer) Moyer. As was true of all his siblings the middle initial stood for Beer, his Mother\'s maiden name. Paul B. was only educated to the 8th grade, somewhat amazing considering the fact that he built a business that is still flourishing today under the 3rd generation, his grandchildren who are, in fact, in their 60\'s ready to retire and pass it to the 4th generation.Paul B., known to us as Grandpop, followed his older brother Charlie to Doylestown and learned from him how to rebuild batteries and work with electronics. This being about early 1920\'s the industry and cars were just getting popular. Grandpop soon was perfecting his trade and doing lots of fixing all sorts of batteries and electronic components. Around the late 1920\'s / early 1930\'s Uncle Charlie had to leave Doylestown and relocated in Delaware.It was in the early 1930\'s that Grandpop went out on his own with his trade. Rebuilding batteries was his first trade, then along came generators, starters and all electronic components for the automobile. He was the exclusive \'go to\' guy of auto electrical repair in the area. Along with that he began to fix appliances and eventually became the fixit station for all kinds of household appliances such as toasters, iron, mixmasters, etc.The first location for Paul B. Moyer\'s shop was on Donaldson Street and then he moved to 23-23 East Oakland Avenue where he remained until 1968. Employees consisted of mechanics who knew or were taught the methods and eventually countermen. He had a secretary Martha, who ended up staying with the business until 1982!! Boy she could gossip.As time went on the industry continued to progress so in 1944, Grandpop brought in the first of the air cooled engine manufacturers Briggs and Stratton.After World War II ended, Cliff and Dick Moyer joined their Dad in the journeys of working dedicated and countless hours at the SHOP until their retirement and beyond. In 1968 after much thought Paul B. Moyer decided to incorporate thus becoming what is Paul B. Moyer & Sons, Inc. Along with his son Cliff and Dick. This same year is when the business relocated to 190 South Clinton Street.The onslaught of the small air cooled engine industry brought along the addition of additional manufacturers, Wisconsin, Robin, Tecumseh, Kohler, Clinton among others.The grandsons of Grandpop, Kenny, Rick and Chuck began working at the SHOP during their high school years and although took some time at the occupation/ventures remain steadfast to the family business.In 1980 PBM&S acquired a distributorship in American Honda Engines for the State of Pennsylvania, the fourth distributor in the country. Rick took the reigns of this task and the Company is still the distributor 33 years later. Honda is our cream of the crop and great engine along with parts & accessories.PBM&S began selling power tools such as Black & Decker and Milwaukee years ago and continues that along with Hitachi and all kinds of attachments too many to mention.The sales of units of lawnmowers, snowblowers, leaf blowers, chain saws, generators, etc. with brands available like Husqvarna, Bob-Cat, Redmax, Honda, Jenny, and Generac to mention a few began with the 4th generation and their energy to progress into new territory.We, the present third generation of PBM&S, are thankful for the opportunity our Grandpop, Dad and Uncle Cliff preserved for us to continue and sustain. Each generation overlapped while teaching and helping one another along the way. In the same token each generation faced different challenges and hurdles but work relentlessly to overcome them and continue the business.Our customers have been great through the years and we value each and every one. We believe that honest and trust plus fairness are foremost in our everyday endeavors. Shipping We will ship orders within 24 hours of payment received. We try and ship all orders same day up until 1 pm est. During Fall and Winter seasons we are usually able to easily extend that time a couple hours. During Spring and Summer seasons it is not always possible to get out same day past noon, but we do our best to get as many orders out as possible.
