...I know - this is not a gift and not one of the lowest prices around,but: please read, what you will get here:Ioffer here from a local purchase another fully restored and workinggerman tube radio named \"Deutscher Kleinempfaenger\"(meaning: ´german small-receiver´, type 1938) in a reallyincredible condition. It would fit perfect in a pre-warradio-collection, but also to a reenactment scenery as well !

Iam a collector of these sets for nearly 30 years now and own many ofthem. I have highest experiences in restoring these radios andsold them around the world (please just have a look at my seller´sratings !).

Thesesets were produced from 1938 to 1943 by all german radio companiesexactly in the same way and in the same design. The only way to findout, which company produced any particular set was the metal tag onthe chassis and the the producer´s name on the back panel.

Becauseall parts fit to other radios from the same type, mostly these backpanels were exchanged, when such a radio went to repair. Nowadays youwill often not find the correct back panels on the DKE and other\"Volksempfaengers\"(not matching to the producer´stag inside), but not here: this radio was produced by the well knowngerman radio company \"STASSFURT\", and also the back panelshows the same name. It is in good condition, not bend or broken andthe letteringis still fully readable!

Tryto imagine what voices and sounds went over this speaker !!This is a real pieceof history !!

Thisset has a very glossy and highly shiny bakelite cabinet (in thequality I always offer my radios) with no serious damages, no cracksand no missing parts. Nothing (!) is scratched out! It is nearlyimpossible to take photos without reflections on the cabinet (it isreally shiny like a mirror - please have a look at the pictures!).The cabinet is not painted or lacquered but only hand-polished - whatyou see is the original brightness of the genuine bakelite!

Thegrill cloth is near to perfect as the tubes and all other parts.

Thechassis is clean and definitelyfree of any damages! Every partis cleaned (and gently oiled where necessary) and works electricallyand mechanically as it should. It was stored in a private householdover the last 70 years and is really near to perfect overall !!

Thespeaker workscorrectly and the coneis newcentered(no disturbing noises at all !). The originaltubes are bothstrongin the \"good\"-area of my tube-tester! Thesilverish metal-coatingof the VCL11 (important for correctfunction) is left with 95 % !!!

Thedial and all knobs turn smooth and accurate.

Ipulled out the main condensers (4MF) and changed them with new(high-voltage-types). I also changed the 0.9MF and the smallercondensers for security reasons. Every other part is original. Thechangings were made by keeping the original tubular housing of thecondensers for the original appearance. I also cleaned every otherpart and rebuilt them very careful (have a look at the photosattached below). All resistors measure correct. The set even has it´soriginalmains plug. Only the mains cable was changed with amodern one – but of course cloth covered to keep up the originalappearance as well.

Whatyou get is a fullyworkingradio in complete original shape with working interior parts. Theradio plays loud and clear on both frequencies (long-wave andmedium-wave / almost identical to the american standard broadcastband (550-1600 khz). The scale changes automaticly when turning themiddle wheel between both bands. This radio is a single circuitreceiver with a rectifier-tube (VY2) and a combinedtriode/penthode-tube (VCL11). It works as a regenerative circuit likein the good old days and it has an \"old-style\"moving-coil-speaker. So: please do not expect high end sound feelingwhen using this radio.
I made a last test run yesterday eveningfor three hours and received lots of foreign stations because thereare not german stations left „on the air“ - this shows thesensivity of this little fellow !!

Thisradio needs an antenna of approx 100ft (single stranded wire will do)and an earth connection (e.g. a water pipe or anything else) to workbest.

Thecabinet measures 9,5 x 9.5 inches at the front and 4.5 inches deep.

Itis prepared to work also with 220Volts as with 110Volts - please tellme in which area you live and I will put this set to your correctmains voltage - whatyou will get is a \"plug-and-play\"-set from 1938!!! Together with this set you will get a colour copy of the originalinstruction manual.

Ofcourse I know that my price is not cheap but pleasekeep in mind what you get: a fully cleaned and restored (more than70 years old) radio in working order. I do not offer theusual stuff like \"just found in an attic with it´s originaldust\" or \"I do not know anything about it butit´s terrific\" or \"I don´t know how tobring it to live again, untested but in \"great\" condition\"!!!
