Gitane Tour de France, ca. 1970
Reynolds 531 frame is 60 cm. c-to-c, approx 61 cm. or 24\" measured center to top
Rare variant (or mislabeled Super Corsa?) has Campagnolo dropouts, so will accept standard (Campy, Shimano, Suntour, etc.) rear derailleur
Bike is complete and unrestored. Foil decals are still there.
Parts are mostly original, except for left crank arm and quill pedals, which are SR/Sakae replacements. Saddle is a cheap, uncomfortable Viscount covered plastic saddle of the time period
Component highlights:
* Campagnolo Gran Sport derailleurs, shifters, and hubs with straight-lever quick release
* Mafac Competition brakes and half-hooded levers
* Stronglight headset, bottom bracket, and crankset (left arm replaced)
The most glaring shortcoming is the tires. These Clement Condor tubulars will probably hold air, but should be considered unsafe to ride -- tread is cracked and base tape is badly separated. They will need to be replaced with serviceable tubulars or the rims swapped out for clincher rims.
Other than the tires, bike is a thorough tuneup short of being rideable -- clean, lube, new cable housings, new brake pads...?? Priced accordingly.
