These were the predecessor to the American Girl Dolls and so much more realistic. The design structure of these Gotz dolls provide the ability topose themvery realistically, as well.

Released in 1998, this beauty was an original creation by artist Joke Grobben from the Netherlands. A student of sculpture in both Hague and Florence, Italy. Joke was asked to sculpt a portrait of a friend\'s child. This launched her career as a doll artist. Joke\'s dolls inspire both collectors and doll artists everywhere. For Joke, making doll-children of the world is her \"island refuge in the sea\". Joke says that one of the best compliments she ever received was when she was invited to work with Gotz. Her first collection debuted in 1993.

She comes ready to pose and display in herlovely original dress/pants/coatmatching hatcomplete with her tags all still intact and attached.Underneath her long pants, she wears white tights and boots with ties down the back. This particular little girl was displayed in a glass case since time of purchase. She was never played with and is still in her original clothing (see pics). There appears to be slight rubbing on the side of her boots and her bloomers are very wrinkly where they were bunched up by her stand (close-up photos havebeen included). Her clothing is very clean as would be expectedsince as noted she has spent her life in a glass case.
