Up for sale is a vintage H.N. White King silver plated trombone with original case, mouthpiece, lyre rod and an extra tuning tube. This instrument is in very good condition with only a few dents. See the pictures. It is a medium bore. I can\'t tell the cup size of the mouthpiece because of finish loss. The case is in very good condition for its age but the leather handle strap is missing. Serial number is 15985. Year of manufacture is probably 1910-17. In 1918, the logo changed from H.N. White to H.N. White Co. The engraving on the bell is in excellent condition. The lions head, serial number and Pat. May 24th, 1910 are all very clear. The serial numbers are hard to date. This number shows somewhere between 1905-10 but the Pat. 1910 would have to rule that out. So the age is probably 1910 to 1918. There is an extra tuning tube which is a mystery to me. It is shorter than the one on the instrument so I would assume you could use this to play in a higher register. The confusing part is that the one on the instrument does not appear to be a quick change as it appears to be hard welded. If you have any information on this, please let me know.
