Have you considered buying an
old clock or clocks to enjoy and pass down in your family? Especially in days gone by, a windup clock
wasn't just a household fixture. The clock was a treasured piece of furniture
and became part of the family. These clocks were often handed down through the
generations. All of a sudden, electric clocks came along. Advertisement made
the old wind up clocks seem unnecessary and outdated. Many of these fine clocks
were just thrown away or tossed in attics. Now many people are beginning to
appreciate these old Crafted clocks as investments to be enjoyed and passed on
to heirs. What anniversary will you pick to go with this clock? Something
special I am sure. Each year as you remember and celebrate that special memory
in time you will want to wind this clock and everyday when you see this clock
you will remember that special anniversary! This anniversary clock will add
elegance to your décor. It will tell
someone that they are special.
Your family could treasure it
and the memories with it for years to come.
Very Collectible and made in Germany, S.
Haller clocks are no longer crafted so there are only the ones that are already
in existence. They are getting more difficult to find in good condition. I have one myself and will always have one
for my collection.
This clock is in good
condition. The clock is from an estate and I after winding it a little it
started to run. The clock is sold as is and I am making no claim to accuracy. The
clock has nice original patina but also looks very good. I will include a winding crank if you state
that you need one and add $16.00 to the winning offer to pay for the key if you
don’t pay the $16.00 above the winning offer the clock will ship with no key.
The clock is running well and since I have many clocks I am selling a few to
make more room. The Elgin Torsion Anniversary clock is rare and hard to find,
especially in this condition. Have you
noticed that most all anniversary clocks have the same painted floral design on
the face? Not this one, it has an
elegant solid brass face. I have placed
a reserve that befits this clock.
This is a large anniversary
clock. The face is solid brass and is almost 4 ½ inches across and the clock is
a little over 7 inches wide at the base and 12 inches high to the top of the
glass dome. Unlike the modern battery anniversary clocks, this clock is a real
mechanical jewel movement clock where the rotating pendulum actually moves the
clock hands. You just wind it once a
year and it can even go up to 400 days. .
Another great feature is the
open face so that you can see the complete clock movement behind the face. The
winding spring is encased in brass to cover and hide it. The clock movement is
as fascinating to watch as the rotating pendulum.
Here are some features of the Elgin Torsion Drive
that make it unique and highly desirable. It is a genuine jewel movement Elgin
Torsion Drive Anniversary Clock. It has the Elgin nameplate attached to show through the
open face. On the back it is signed, "S. Haller" then under this
"Made in Germany".
On the face, under the six o'clock position in very small
print it says "West
Germany". It has a brass face with Roman numerals.
Clock is all brass, not the cheaper plastic with a brass finish. This is a true 400day clock. Another great
feature is that is does not have the hair like suspension wire that often
breaks and sends other anniversary clocks (even the cheaper battery ones) back
to the clock shop. Instead it has the
patented Torsion drive to connect the clock mechanism to the turning ball
