This is a nice old BV and Hammond D-20 tone cabinet . (No Leslie...it has been sold). I can modify the connections on this organ to run it through a Leslie simulator (Neo-Ventilator, Rotosphere, Korg G-4, etc.) Right now, it is ready to hook up directly to a Leslie and/or the DR-20 tone cabinet(which is included with this sale)
The organ is 1948.
The organ has a B+ power supply added so it will run a Leslie without the tone cabinet plugged in. The tone cabinet works well (even the reverb).
This rig sounds great. The ONLY \"problem\" is a white-noise \'hiss\' that can be heard when the organ isNOT being played (Ambient). It appears to be the preamp although it could be from scanner?
I\'ve been told it could be a tube causing this. I don\'t know...it works great and soundsgreatas-is so I haven\'t pursued it.
I shouldn\'t have mentioned the \'hiss\' because people think there is a major problem with it.
There isn\'t. It makes no more idle noise than my Fender amp. It has more \'hiss\' than my B-3 but LESS hum. I only mention it in light of \"full-disclosure\".
The vibrato scanner works fine. The tone generator is smooth and quiet. The generator and scanner have just been lubed.
This set sounds like the organ on Santana\'s \"Evil Ways\". Very gutsy and round tone.
IF you have a Hammond A-100 series organ but want a B-3, swap out the guts and you have one. However, this thing sounds great and if you added Trek percussion, it would sound like a B-3.
The organ finish is a nice, dark walnut. The finish is actually not too bad. It has had the corners knocked off as is typical of organs which have been moved without proper padded cover. There is a section on the top of the fallboard which has lifted and formed a slight blister. It isn\'t too noticeable.....it doesn\'t seem to show up in the photo. I think one could drill a small hole and inject glue and then clamp it in that area to repair it. Again, it isn\'t bad enough to mess with unless, of course, it bothers you. *You can\'t see it when the fallboard is open.*
This organ does not appear to have been moved very many times.Other than the corners, it is NOT beat up. It had a fabric\'skirt\' around it so it was most likely used in a church most of its life.
This is a complete, ready-to-play rig. It includes bass pedals in good shape and a bench from a Hammond spinet. The bench is not wide enough to cover the pedal board so, if you plan to use the pedals, you will need a different bench.
I ran out of picture space so I will rotate and add pictures as the sale proceeds. Please let me know if you want a particular photo.
This rig is for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Don\'t assume that if you buy it, I will somehow change my mind and ship the organ. You have to come and get it unless we come to some agreement before purchase is complete..
I DO have organ dollies to assist in loading it.
