Hereford Tex Tan Ranch Saddle 15\" Older in nice shape Unusual Style wortha LOOK:

Older Hereford Tex Tan Saddle - Very Unique Find!
Saddle has a 15\" seat and an ample gullet as illustrated. Saddle has a solid tree and rigging. Tree is a bullhide covered wood tree and this saddle has some weight to it - I\'d estimate it to be in the range of about 32-34 pounds. The saddle was likely made before Blevins style buckles were invented - interesting prong style connects for adjusting leg length, secured with a piece of leather slipped down - pretty neat actually..... Horn is solid and this saddle could be roped off or used to pony colts.
What I see to declare is common age and patina in leather - a few scrapes or marks as to be expected, tooling still remarkably deep (and fantastic) as illustrated. Saddle leather has been treated with glycerinesoap and conditioners and a little bit of neatsfoot. The horn cap has some loose stitching at rim - and all the saddle strings look to be original and intact - but one of the front strings has a slit in it. The leather under fenders is intact with all original holes and none stretched or blown out. there is narrow leather (shoelace width) string on one fender that slides through after you adjust leg length and the other side has a string too but it is not attached to end of strap. Saddle has in skirt rigging and comes with the girth in photos and straps shown - and an additional latigo strap will also be sent with it to switch out if saddle to be used for riding. The tooled to match stirrups and rear cinch billets are the originals. The rear cinch belly piece is a heavy duty double stitch that has some loose stitching but is useable as is. ... so Ranchy it\'s Townie..... The old school Horsemen will appreciate it - and I think someone doing a western deco would adore it as well. New latigo strap will be sent along with it, just left the old-timey original on in case this is going to be used as deco. Again, this saddle can be rode - The tree and rigging are solid. If I am reading the serial number correctly - starting with 765.... I am not sure but I\'d guess this is a saddle made in July of 1965???
I have MANY more photos if you need them - ready to share in messages if you\'d like to see more.I\'m happy to answer questions, take more measurements, or anything you need to help make your decision. It\'s a RARE find! Thanks for looking & Happy Trails!
