Herschede 9 tube electric grandfather clock movement only @ 1930s. This original movement came in the smaller Herschede electric 9 tube case and with other parts that I also have for sale this week. Please see my other sales this week for other Herschede parts including the original set of 9 tubes for this movement. Movement is in good relatively clean condition, and was running when removed from an estate last week. It looks to have had a high quality professional restoration within the last few years. Nice original damascening on the plates. Looks ready to go with some oiling and adjustment, but no guarantees. Chimes a choice of Westminster, Whittiington, or Canterbury on the quarter hours. The electric rotor assembly on the backplate drives both the chime and strike, and the pendulum. Movement actually has a time train including escape wheel and verge, and keeps time via pendulum. This rare movement is truly a hybrid clock - a transition from weight drive to electric. Dial measures 9 11/16\" wide x 13 3/8\" tall. It is excellent with great original finish to the metal, and almost no wear. Moon dial is in great original condition with no losses and good solid paint. Original hands.
