Hobo Nickel by Steve Adams - Things have been hectic with our move from WI to PA, and it has been awhile since I've made a carving available.This is only the second nickel I've completed since moving to Pennsylvania, andis my first offering on in several years.The initials SA will appear in a keystone on the reverse side of the nickel. The keystone represents Pennsylvania.

The basis for thefigure on this nickelwas borrowed from the design on the obverse of a double eagle coin. I then expanded the design to incorporate other features such as a rope border, a banner and flowing trails from the gown on the figure. There is also a fine stippledbackground, with a dark patina. The relief is deep.
