A unique instrument fromHewlett-Packard, the 427A Automatic Capacitance Bridge provides awide variety of high speed measurements of both active and passivecapacity values. Five-digit readout of capacitance from full=scaleranges of 18.000 pF to 1.2000 F is complemented by .001 pF resolutionand measurement speed of 0.5 seconds. In addition, a second in-line4-digit Nixie display of capacitor loss is given simultaneously interms of parallel conductance or dissipation factor. In thelaboratory, the 4270A will be extremely useful for examination ofsemiconductor junction capacities, input capacitances of amplifiersand other active devices, as well as the analysis of of straycapacity values, cables and simple capacitors. DC biasing, fourfrequencies from 1 kHz to 1 MHz and a fully guarded measurement willadd to laboratory flexibility.

This instrument is used, but ingood condition, and has been recently been “checked out” by itsengineer/owner.
