Huge 1930s Gardner-Denver air compressor w/big 4cyl Buda motor model BTH-PU1630:
$1995.00

Since the air tank is dated 1934,it\'s reasonable to assume the rest of it was born in the 1930\'s but exact year unknown. This thing is big,14\' from tip of tongue to back of crank handle. Weight unknown but probably at least a ton. It looks like it started life bolted permanently to the floor. Someone has added the tongue and axles from a trailer. The previous owner could not find the fourth wheel for the right front, they are 6-lug. The trailer frame was welded to the bottom of the compressor structure but has broken loose from the front and back crossmembers on the right side. The tires appear to be holding air but are very checked and in poor condition. They may be okay to load the thing onto a trailer but not for towing it anywhere on the road. The motor is a Buda Model BTH PU1630,serial number 219046A,hand crank start, magneto ignition, the compressor is Gardner-Denver brand, low pressure bore of 7\",high pressure bore of 5 3/4\",stroke of 5\",pressure is 100 pounds,Model WBE 2000. The top tank is fuel, bottom tank compressed air. There is no ID plate on the fuel tank,it\'s about 15 1/2\" in diameter and about 47\" long. I\'m guessing it holds 35-40 gallons. The info on the bottom tank plate looks like: NATL BD 7240,WM B. SCAIFE &SONS CO,Oakmont Pa,(U) MAX WP 100LBS,BUILT 1934,27240,HSB 8326,SHELL 1/8. It may have had side covers at one time,if so they are long gone. According to the previous owner this thing has run in recent history. The oil looks pretty dark and if I was going to use it I would certainly change the oil and cartridge filter and oil in the compressor before. And probably again after short usage. The motor does turn over with the hand crank. There is a clutch between the motor and the compressor. Again, whether this stuff works properly is unknown. It will be up to the buyer to arrange picking it up and hauling it out of here. No giant rush to move it. If you\'re using compressed air to run old steam equipment or other stuff at the thrashing bee, something like this would be neater than a new Chinese compressor. With the run on scrapiron over the last fifteen or twenty years, there may be very few of these that survived and didn\'t end up in the melting pot.
