For sale is a HUGE 5 Gallon Stamped Salt Glazed Crock Jug! Large Mouth and Handle!! This is an awesome primitive crock jug with awesome orange peel salt glaze finish. The number \"5\" is stamped on the top (see pic). I do not know the maker, but this is clearly an early jug. I would estimate late 1800\'s. A small hairline at the base of the handle is all I can find, but handle is very strong and jug can be lifted without worry. No chips around base or mouth. Large mouth opening measures approximately 1 3/4\" across. Not sure if this is the original cork or a later one. The underside gives the illusion of cracks but is just the clay and how it was molded. No cracks on the underside. Hard to find these monsters anymore. Measures approx. 18 1/2\" to top of cork and 11\" in diameter at the base where it tapers, so the middle of the jug is a bit larger in diameter. This is from a VERY high end estate that is just FULL of high end top quality pieces including tin litho\'s, porcelain signs, crocks and jugs, antiques of all kinds, and even taxidermy.
