HUGE Emilian Wehrle 8 day Shelf Trumpeter Clock Fastastic Case Project:
$2950.00

This sale is for a large Emilian Wehrle Shelf trumpeter clock project. The clock was made circa 1880 in Furtwangen, Germany. The case is absolutely massive measuring 35\" tall, 22\" wide, and 13\" deep. Not all Wehrle trumpeter clocks are equal. The most desirable are the large shelf clocks with the massive 8 day movements. These 8 day examples are much more rare then the much more common 30 hour wall models...and very few collections have an 8 day example. When the 8 day clocks do come up for sale they frequently bring prices several times the figure that the 30 hour examples bring. Looking at the original factory literature the average wholesale price for a wall example with 30 hour movement was about 100 marks, where the massive shelf clocks is in the 300 mark range... to put this price in perspective a heavily carved Beha cuckoo clock with an 8 day movement could be had for under 50 marks, and wood plate \"shield clock\" for about 3 marks. Although the case on this clock is beautiful and in good condition, the movement is missing the pneumatics and other mechanical components and is probably in a state that is best suited for parts vs a restroation.Fortunately the Wehrle three train movements were mass produced based on a standardized pattern for decades, and they will interchange between cases with no modifications. This clock would be perfect for a collector/dealer wanting to upgrade his plain-Jane shelf example into a fantastic case. It looks great and could be displayed as it is in a collection until a complete movement is located.Restored this clock will be a solid $15,000 trumpeter clock, so this represents a unique opportunity to get into a 8 day shelf Wehrle on a budget. If the buy it now is used I will include free shipping and insurance anywhere in the continental USA. I am also willing to accept your best offer, in the case a lower offer is made shipping will be done at cost and cost only unless other arrangements are made.
