This is a beautiful Husqvarna Sewing Machine that I purchased from an estate several years ago. Yep its a HUSKY!!! It is a hand crank model from the early 1900\'s. Up until now I\'ve had it around for show, but its time to pass it on to someone else. I believe it is similar to a Singer Model 17, but not certain.
This sewing machine was made in Kobenhavn/Copenhagen, Denmark Sweden. The Serial Number is: 1307780
Has some minor wear as seen in photos but not too bad. There is also some crazing of the black enamel. The machine itself however has no other physical damage. Everything appears to function normally and smoothly but if you plan to use it, you may want to have it serviced just so it gets lubrication where needed. There are no broken parts that I can find. The sewing machine\'s wooden handle has some wear, I believe it was caused by making contact with gears when folded. This has always been stored in a clean dry location. None of the parts have any rust whatsoever. (The main photo shows what looks like damage in front of and under the thread spool, but this is merely a reflection from the window.) The Shuttle & feet are nice and shiny. Comes with four shuttle bobbins and various feet as well.
The top edge of the original wooden case is in really nice condition but has two small similar looking chips on each end. The original wooden case has a Husqvarna logo on the outside and the original key. The lock on case works fine, but one should ALWAYS support these heavy sewing machines from the bottom too given the age of the wood and weight of the machine. I only say this because a friend of mine had the lock that wasn\'t completely engaged come loose and it broke the machine when it hit the ground. So be careful with them!
Husqvarna has become one of the top sewing machine and chainsaw manufacturers in the world. This a very desirable sewing machine for collectors!
UPS Ground seems to be the least expensive shipping for this size/weight package but left the option for Fedex too. It will be well packaged, including adding padding inside the case to provideadditional support for the machine itself.
