Very fineto excellent condition original Italian Model 1870 Vetterli bayonet that has a fine bright blade that has a sharp edge and a little scattered brown, clearly manufacturer marked TORINO. Remaining metal finish is a pleasing smooth plum brown. Original brown composite grips are excellent with no cracks or damage and never replaced with wood grips, like they usually were. Lock spring functions fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather is soft and supple, shows some normal wear and has nice tight stitching, brass throat and tip have a pleasing old patina. Very tough to find early Vetterli bayonet that will make a fine addition to your collection and an excellent accessory for your rifle.
