Icom IC-R7000 Receiver Capacitor Replacement Kit:
$42.95

This is a completeelectrolytic capacitorreplacement for the Icom R7000 receiver. TheR7000 is a collector\'s item for the vintage ham radio enthusiast. I have been restoring vintage ham radio equipment for years, and electrolytic capacitors have a design life span which one has to recognize if the intent is to keep your R7000running for a long time to come.

As a retired broadcast transmitter maintenance technician, when I take in a piece of equipment not only is it restored cosmetically to like-new condition, it is also electrically re-newed.

Part ofmy restoration process is the replacing of all electrolytic capacitors. Electrolyticsover time change value due to leakage, electrical stress, heat exposure etc., and can be very annoying to trouble shoot especially when intermittent. There are118 small electrolytics used in theR7000so for those who like probability calculations, figure out the failure rate possibility for capacitors that already have25+ years of service!

The capacitors supplied in the kits are brand new Nichicon with a couple of values usingPanasonic brand capacitors. All capacitorsarerated at 85 deg. C.

Included in the kit is an installation guide to help those alongwho might feel a bit nervous doing this type of board work.

Technical Notes:

** There is no retuning of the radio required as the capacitors being changed are power supply related, or audio coupling/decoupling.

** Installation Time is approximately10-12 hours from start to finish for an experienced technican. For all others, take you time and enjoy its a great project!

The kit is comprised of the following capacitors (118 in all):

.47uf 50V - Qty 14

.47uf 50V BP - Qty 2

1uf 50V - Qty 5

2.2uf 50V - Qty 2

3.3uf 50V - Qty 4

4.7uf 50V - Qty 6

10uf 16V - Qty 38

The photo used in the ad is generic, and there might not actually be118 capacitors in the photo!.
