FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
VINTAGE ILLINOIS BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY- NO. L-2122 MODEL NO. US-4
This phone belonged to my dear old dad who passed away 4years ago. He bought many phones from a friend who i believe actually worked for the telephone company and so most everything he bought from \"Dale the phone guy\" was in good working order. This phone is fully functional. I tested this phone at my sister\'s house because her phone service accommodates the old-time rotary dial, landline telephones. It performed great. My sister dialed out and successfully called me on my cell phone. I then called her back from my cell phone and it rang nice and strong as it received my phone call. Conversation was clear with no static.Dial spins and returns as it should.
Looking on the internet I did not find a phone exactly like this one.I tried looking up some info on the internet for my description. I didn\'t find much but here\'s what i did find.
Provincial, FRENCH & Victorian Style was the description given to other phones that look like this one so I wasn\'t sure what to call it. On some similar phones ( sales) that were for sale the bottom shows a manufacturer date (year of 1967 on a couple) and manufactured in Japan for United States Telephone Company. Mine looks like maybe the \"manufactured date\" and \"Japan\" was rubbed out. Don\'t know why? -if it was. Anyhow I believe this telephone to be manufactured in the late 60\'s and manufactured in Japan for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company. It\'s in beautiful condition! It would be an impressive looking (working) telephone sitting on your Provincial/Victorian Style table or any table for that matter!
Hope this helps!
I will ship either FedEx or USPS Priority -whichever you prefer.
Dimensions- 9\" tall X 8\" deep X 8\" wide
I also want to add this bit of information that I read on a phone expert\'s website-DIALING OUT DOES NOT WORK ON CABLE LINES BUT THE PHONE SHOULD STILL RING AND CAN BE USED TO TALK ON- JUST THE DIALING OUT MAY NOT WORK WITHOUT A STANDARD OLD-TIME LANDLINE. NEW TELEPHONE LINE TECHNOLOGIES DO NOT SUPPORT THE DIALING. So that being said know your phone service before making a purchase if dialing out is important. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A fellow er was kind enough to pass along this helpful information. There are products such as DialGizmo that connects between your rotary phone and the line (or VoIP box) and allows you to use your wonderful old rotary telephone on any VoIP phone line by converting the pulse dialing signal from the rotary dial into modern tone dialing signals. You can Google to learn more about these gizmos. Rotatone, I believe is another one.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
