Good condition and guaranteed original Imperial German Model1865/71 Faschinenmesser sawback bayonet. This rare piece was originally madefor the Dreyse needle gun, and then had the muzzle ring bushed, and was usedwith the Model 1871 and 71/84 Mauser and the GEW 88 Commission rifles. Has apartially visible Suhl manufacturer marking on the left side blade ricasso andis also marked on the spine. 18 7/8” blade has original bright finish with somegray and pitting. Guard is similar. Saw teeth are sharp. Brass grip has nicemellow color. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. No scabbard. A veryrare bayonet that will make a fine advanced addition to your collection.
