Samuel launched his one-room pottery in 1872, he did everything himself. He dug the clay from the Fultenham, Ohio, soil, threw and fired his pieces, and carted them into nearby Zanesville, where he sold them door to door. No one at that time would have guessed that within 30 year\'s time, Weller Pottery have 500 employees and be one of the biggest names in hand-painted art pottery in the United States nor a century later Weller\'s pottery would be among the most sought-after by collectors world-wide.This outstanding Rose Motif Vase stands at an approx height of 10 1/2 inches and is approx 4 1/2 inches at its Widest. The amazing Grape Motif Tankard is approx 5 1/4 inches tall and the base is approx 3 1/2 inches at the base.There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs so overall condition is excellent.Your beautiful pottery will arrive tissued, bubble wrapped and placed in an oversize box (18x12x12) to insure a safe and proper delivery.
