Nice ITT Aerospace Model AM-6155/GRT-22(V) UHF RF Power Amplifier. ITT Aerospace Optical Division in the 1980’s manufactured this item for the FAA for use with Ground-To-Air Transmitters covering the 225 – 400MHz frequency range. It was designed for 50 Watts AM continuous output with a 10-Watt input. It is identified as NSN# 5820-00-123-3954, P/N# 8004202G1, Contract # FO4606-77-C-0479. The unit’s Serial Number is # 17157. Item operates on either 120VAC or 240VAC (jumper selectable) single-phase power. These Amplifiers use either an Eimac 8930 or Amperex DX-393 Tetrode Tube. I have heard that with a few hours work and almost no extra parts (need to add relays for T/R switching) that these units can be converted to Amateur Radio use for 220 or 432MHz (some people also claim 144MHz as well). Converted as such they output in excess of 400 Watts PEP in SSB / CW mode with 10 Watts input. I cannot guarantee this personally, however, there is a lot of information on the web attesting to this fact and providing detailed instructions as to how to perform the modifications. This unit is original and NOT MODIFIED. It is beautifully constructed and fits into a standard 19” equipment rack. This item is a nice example of American Craftsmanship it was constructed with the finest of components and built to last a lifetime. I am not equipped to test this item so I must sell it for parts or repairs per protocol. I am including the small (NEMA ML3-15) twist-lock receptacle that interfaces with the rear panel power connector and a remote control cable assembly that was used to connect this amplifier with its companion transmitter (NOT INCLUDED, we do not have). The RF input and output connectors are type “N” Female. This amplifier is in good – very good overall physical and cosmetic condition and will be very well packaged in a sturdy box (double boxed) with bubble-wrap and high-grade packing foam.
