Note that these two items are not original World War II items and are reproductions. Having said that, they are the world’s finest reproductions, and are directly from the stocks of Nakata Shoten in Tokyo. The Army Air Force Flying Cap is Item Number N-253 in the Nakata catalog (9,000 yen) and is made of leather. It is of Medium size and as can be seen in the accompanying scans, absolutely BRAND NEW and in MINT condition.
The accompanying Flight Googles are also from Nakata Shoten and is Item N-720 (12,000 yen). Construction is of bronzed aluminum and is lined with dark brown velour. Like the Flying Cap, it is technically BRAND NEW/MINT but suffers some wear along the frame edges due to improper packing. Both items can be seen in the on-line Nakata Shoten web site, and are as close to the real thing as you can get.
For those of you not familiar with Nakata Shoten, it is without doubt the finest producer of Japanese military reproduction uniforms and equipment. Military reenactment fans make pilgrimages to the incredible Nakata Shoten shop in the Ueno area of Tokyo, and shop until their wallets are empty.
