This hatchet, or Japanese \"masakari\", isprobably 70-80 years old. It seems to be made of \"watetsu(和鉄)\", but we\'re not sure. Watetsu is a type of steel made in the Japanese tradition, which also is used for making Japanese swords (日本刀).There is no marking, but it seems to be carefully made.To sum it all up, this hatchet was made by skilled master who could make Japanese swords.
This hatchet is in fair condition, with some general wear and many spots and patches of slightly bumpy oxidation, but there is no significant structural damage. The cutting edge is blunt and somewhat ragged. The handle has general wear, but it seems usable.
Overall, this hatchet seems to be usable, but will probably need cleanup and corrections.Total : Approx. 355mm(14\")×105mm(4.1\")
