This is a JapaneseWWllArmyofficer`ssword in mountings. The blade is signed \"Yasunori 靖徳\", dated \"Showa Juyo-nen Hachi-gatsu kichijitsu 昭和十四年八月吉日 (lucky day Aug., 1939)\", shinogi-zukuri shape, before WWlltime period made blade. Yasunori\'s real name is Kajiyama Tokutaro, born in 1881, studied under his father Kajiyama Ujimasa and Yokoyama Sukeyoshi. He became a master swordsmith for the Nihonto Tanren kai located at Yasukuni shrine, made swordsduring WWll time period and after the war, listed in John Slough\'s book page 188, 189 and rated 1.5 Million yen smith.The blade is inold full polish, no rust, no stainand in mint condition.The temper line is wavykogunome with choji temper pattern and has deeptemper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada no opening, no blister and no forging flaws at all at all. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge issharp. The scabbardis glossy lacquered heavy metalscabbard, nodents,no bend, no lacquer loss andin excellent condition. Thehandle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no looseand ingood condition. Tsuba and seppas are matched owner\'s name スダmarked. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 27\" tip to the guard, 26+1/4\" cutting edge, 1+1/8\" width, 6.5 mmthickness at the notch and 39+3/4\" inmountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S.
