Antique 19th Century Violin. Label is intact, and reads, John G. Klemm\'s Pianoforte and Music Warehouse, Philadelphia.We can not get a photo of entire label, so there are 3 photos showing the label. John G. Klemm, b Neukirchen, Germany,June, 1795, d Phila. Oct. 1893.He and his brother Frederich,opened shop in Philadelphia in 1819. The Philadelphia City Directory, has listings for J.G. Klemm Pianoforte Music Warehouse from,1825 to 1833, at 287 High St. Phila. After that the listing is for Klemm & Bro.Theyimported violins from Germany, fortheir Philadelphia Music Shop. We are not sure ifthey actually made them.The family has an extensive Musical History,inGermany and Philadelphia.Last photo shows what looks to be a repair, and the rest of the violin looks to bevery good.
