Up for sale is a working, (no known issues) Kenwood TS-830S HF Transceiver with MC-50 Desk Microphone. Tested at about 100 watts output into a dummy load and put on the air briefly for receive and transmitter testing. Includes a copy of the operating manual with schematics.
Plug it into 120 AC supply, connect your antenna and and a tuner to get on the air.
Donated to our local Amateur Radio Club by a Club Member who moved out of state. This Transceiver was well loved and the radio is in good shape, minor scratches and little, if any fading of the case or front.
This Transceiver uses \"hybrid\" solid state technology with tubes for the finals. Rated at 220 W PEP input for SSB and 180 W DC input for CW operation. Operates on household 120 AC so no separate power supply is needed. With a short learning curve you will be tuning this radio up and be on the air.
Frequency coverage is 1.8 MHz to 29.7 MHz, 160 meter to 10 meter bands including the WARC Bands. Modes includes SSB and CW, so this is truly a \"Ham Band\" radio. Includes a built in digital frequency display as well as analog dial for easier use in finding you favorite frequency.
This transceiver is approximately 13 1/2\" X 13 1/2\" X 5 1/2\" and weighs in at just under 30 lb\'s. Best as a base station operation for a first time HF buyer, or the confirmed Kenwood Collector. Priced to sell as we want to see it get a good new home and use rather than taking up shelf space.
