The KLH Model Eight was Henry Kloss\'s first electronic product. It may be the world\'s first true high fidelity table radio, and it is the ONLY tube radio with an acoustic suspension speaker. Early Eights had solid walnut cabinets and two 3\" drivers. Later ones had furniture-grade veneer cabinets and single 4\" drivers. This is an early model Eight with the solid cabinets and dual 3\" drivers. It features:

The restoration process:

• The cabinets were sanded down to bare wood and refinished.
  
• All electrolytic and paper caps were replaced,as described in my booklet. Some original film caps were retained.
  
• The diode and 220 ohm resistors attached to the can cap were replaced.
  
• All tubes were tested. Two were replaced, the others were good.
• Felt stick-on feet added to speaker bottom for protection.
  
• A professional technician checked the radio, rebuilt the detector transformer and aligned the radio.
• ALSO INCLUDED: A professionally reproduced copy of the Owner\'s Manual

Known \"issues:

• The serial number plate was missing from the receiver. It was replaced with a laser engraved reproduction.
• The original speaker plug was missing. It was replaced with banana plugs, color-coded for polarity.
• The original speaker grille cloth was stained so it was replaced with Irish Linen.
• The \"KLH\" logo on the speaker grille is a laser-engraved reproduction.

I will DELIVER for free within a 40 mile radius of Vernon, NJ (but not to NYC). Otherwise I ship via FedEx Ground. If shipped, it will be VERY well packed: Each component wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed in its own carton, then both boxes packed within a new master carton, cushioned with styrofoam peanuts. Final box size 24\"x18\"x18\", 22 pounds. All shipments are insured. I have shipped to Europe and Asia with NO damage.

I do NOT make any \"profit\" on shipping. Domestic shipping via FedEx Home Delivery (you will have to provide a phone number). International shipping by USPS Priority Mail.

Please note: It may not be possible to ship a single carton to some countries (Taiwan, for example). I will ship in TWO separate cartons and charge accordingly. Shipping to Taiwan will be about $130 USD.
