You are offerding on a Koehler Permissible Miner's safety lamp, approval number 203. Included in the sale is the original shipping box with postage from 1947, receipts, and Lamp magnet in its original shipping box. The lamp has not been cleaned and is in very good condition. There looks like some oil or something from being used on the side. You will noticed it splattered on the side and on the glass. I could not see any rust at all, but I did not want to clean it spotless to find out. The lighter does turn, but I think the flint is all used. If you have the winning offer, you will get everything pictured quickly and securely. If you have any further questions, please email me.

The Big heavy Koehler bench magnet for opening the old MSA-approved Koehler Flame Safety Lamps is very rare! These lamps had a magnetic lock so they couldn't be easily or accidentally opened in the mine. This magnet in its brass case was to stay mounted to the work bench in the lamp shop at the mine. The magnet is still strong. It has been well used and shows wear all around. It is marked "For Bench Use Only Model 700 Koehler Lamp Magnet". On back t looks like a number, "001". These are very hard to find.

The description above about the magnet is something I pulled from another site. I did not read it. THe magnet HAS NOT BEEN USED. It has the original hardware in an envelope and there are no signs of wear! After showing the lamp to my wife who is familiar with lamps, she believes that the lamp was never used because the wick is not burned and is just yellow with age. The residue is only on the outside of the lamp and she thinks that it is something from the storage.
