This is a full size German made violin. These replicas were hand crafted in the late 1800's by luthiers copying the highly desired Stainer family violins. This is a violin with very few repairs made to it over the past 120+ years. I have restored thsi violin back to performance condition and given it a fresh set up including ebony fittings and quality nickel wound strings.

I let my videos speak for each violins quality of sound. I suggest using headphones when comparing sound files of my different violins listed. Headphones will give you much better sound quality compared to common computer speakers. The same 3 songs are played in each violin video for sound comparison. My family and I have roots that run deep in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. We now live in remote Alaska and purchase aged violins worldwide that are full of promise andpotential. Once in our shop we inspect and restore to the individual needs of the violin. I never try to turn an instrument into something it isn't . Each violin is unique and my goal is to restore the original qualities to performance level.

All violins are NOT created equal. The Maple and Spruce that a violin is crafted from is extremely important. A violin can be constructed by the best of luthiers but without the choice of premium soundwood a violin will not convey the sound that a violinist is looking for. The flamingthat is found in the neck, ribs, and backplate of our violins is a reflection of the density of the wood. To achieve the deep mellow aged tones that a violinist is looking for you must have the densely flamed Maple, tightly grained Spruce soundwood top,and most importantly TIME. It takes years for the wood to age in a violin and develop the rich mellow tones. Our violins are predominately 100 year old violins. There are many great violins being produced by luthiers today but the only way to achieve the aged rich mellow tones you are looking for is TIME!
