I was asked the following question:
Q:
Hi there. I see that you said the glass has no cracks and can be cleaned. Was wondering are all the white marks on the globe are just dirt of whether there are slight scratches on the glass? Thank you. - Michelle
A:
Hi Michelle, The white marks (actually looks like some type of residue) appears to be on the inside of the globe. There is also some accumulated dust near the cork. I am selling items which belonged to my father, and I have not attempted to remove the cork to clean the inside. I am a not collector and do not know the proper way to clean antiques that is why I am leaving it up to the purchaser who who can decide whether or not to attempt the cleaning. Some people say to never clean anything antique while others do so. I can see that there are no cracks, but I cannot tell what exactly it will look like if someone does clean the globe. Hope this helps. Thanks,
