This fantastic antique Victorian Easter Rabbit is made from painted, molded paper mache and has very large brown, iris detailed glass eyes and very unusual laid back ears and an open mouth. Can't you "feel" the texture of the fur from this excellently sculpted and molded hollow piece?Unmarked but more than likely German, this beautifully posed Bunny Rabbit has a total height of 7 and 3/8th's inches to the tip of his ears and is 9 and 1/2 inches in length. The width is about 5 inches across the haunches, and his neck opening is just over 2 inches in diameter.Painted a soft white, chalky color, with lots of age and patina added in over the years, there are hand painted detail touches of soft pink here and there to add to the realism.Apparently repaired at some point, the tail seems to be a replacement and I would guess that there has been an over-all light touch up at that time as well, though you wouldn't know it to look at him, he looks just great!A fantastic estate sale find, this vintage Easter morning candy container must have delighted someone around the Turn Of The Century, and can delight someone you love this Easter as well. Please ask any questions prior to offerding, as all sales are final and
