Offered for your consideration is this large heavily-carved antique Black Forest cuckoo clock.
The clock measures 26\" high x 21\" wide x 15\" deep, (back of case to nose on stag).
This circa 1890\'s cuckoo has an unusually shaped pinned movement with \"Mauthe, Villigen\"?stamped midway up the back of the movement as well as \"Germany\" stamped on the lower portion of the movement.
Offered as an easy restoration project.
As it has not been in service for a number of years the movement would benefit from a cleaning and lubrication.
The case is solid and sturdy and the carving is quite detailed, dimensional, and surely done by a master carver.
Please view the photos in regards to condition as the crest has had some repair work done to it years ago, (glue repairs on crest as well as one deer ear) and some of the carving is missing, ( rabbit ear, lower flanking deer ear), the antlers could stand to be replaced, minor scrapes and bumps etc.
Overall an impressive looking clock that has great presence and great potential in the right hands.
The clock comes with the original pendulum, however the weights and gong are missing.
