This is an ORIGINAL old Lehigh & NewEngland Railroad Lantern with Ruby Red Globe. The Lehigh &New England Railroad was incorporated in 1895, and operated over 190 miles oftrackage, being merged into Conrail in 1976. Manufactured by Dietz under thebrand name of “Vesta”, with latest patent date December 25, 1928, and latest service date “S-12-47” (December, 1947). It is very strongly embossed “L.&N.E.R.R.” on the shoulder in ⅜” lettering, with absolutely no dents,dings or gouges in the smoke dome or crown from normal use (see photos). It hasan ORIGINAL old Corning 4¼” Ruby Red Globe in excellent condition with absolutelyno rim flaking. The single wire-guard frame has absolutely no dents, dings,rust or bent wires, stands straight, is in excellent condition. The proprietarytwist-off font with burner is in excellent condition with no apparent holes ofany kind. Overall, a great looking lantern in excellent as found condition,ready to display and enjoy. Note: The “brownish” tint of someof the photos is the result of the cheap photobulbs being currently importedfrom China…THEY SUCK!!The images you see in the photos are the exactitemsyou are offerding on.
