Orange-painted upper and lower side bands on blue plastic body shell. The roof and middle section are unpainted. White heat-stamped lettering and \"FM\" and \"Jersey Central Lines\" Liberty head decals. Includes wire handrails and clear plastic headlight inserts. The major flaws are the breaks in the body at the cab end which have been glued (see photos #5-8). At the other end there is also a glued section which probably broke off due to a screw hole crack (photos #2 and 3). The short handrails are also missing at the cab end, the remaining handrails are showing small spots of rust. The rest of the body isn\'t too bad with some paint rubs on the edges and scuffs on the roof. The roof appears more \"glossy\" than the blue on the side band. FAIR There is an article by Paul Olekson in \"e-Train\", the online magazine for the Train Collectors Association, which discusses thefeatures of a genuine 2341. The good news is: this shell meets the criteria. The bad news is: this damaged shell had the potential to be a valuable postwar collectible. Here\'s the criteria the article mentions which are found on this shell: - All the lettering is heat-stamped
- The spacing between \"JERSEY\" and \"CENTRAL\" differs from one side to the other.
- Some examples have a \"hook\" like mark off some of the letters in \"JERSEY\", particularly the \"J\". This shell has the hook on the \"J, E, R, S\" on both sides and the second \"E\" on one side.
- The orange stripe is scooped under the headlights.
- There are 2 openings in the grill at the body front near the roof blocked with excess plastic, one side only.
- The transition between the unpainted blue plastic body and the orange paint is fuzzy.
- The heat-stamped \"BLT BY LIONEL\" often has the \"B\" and space between \"N\" and \"E\" filled in.
