The P5-1 does not include cables, but you probably already have the extra cable that you\'ll need to use this with your audio system. You will need either a dual-RCA cable (for devices with RCA output jacks), or a \"Y\" cable (for devices with only a headphone jack). The \"Y\" cable that you will most commonly need is a 1/8\"-mini-phone-plug to dual-RCA-plug cable. If you don\'t have the extra cable that you need to insert this device into your system, be aware that dual-RCA and \"Y\" headphone cables are extremely common and can usually be had just about everywhere for a only dollar or two.Q: Will this work with my ____ device (smart phone/tablet/tape deck/etc.)?A: The P5-1 will work with virtually any device that can normally be plugged into the AUX inputs of a home theatre or stereo receiver, boom box/karaoke machine or stereo amplifier. If your device will not work properly through the AUX inputs, then it probably won\'t work with the P5-1 either.Q: Can I use this with my turntable/record player?A: This is an all-purpose device designed to work with signals which already have some level of pre-amplification. But it is not a turntable preamplifier. Turntables do not have any amplification Little Bear offers a whole like of specialized phono preamps from simple preamps designed for receivers without phono inputs to high-end tube-driven models with output quality comparable to name-brand preamps costing several times as much.Q: Can I use this with my electric guitar?A: It is not a guitar preamplifier either, but in some cases it can be used like one. It can add a bit of warmth to a guitar\'s tone, but if you use it like an effect pedal, you aren\'t likely to get it to distort for you in a pleasant way. The P5-1 was designed to be as CLEAN as possible. But whether you want a clean or overdriven tube tone from your guitar, Little Bear offers a pair of exceptional tube preamps designed specifically to handle input signals from electric guitar and provide you with a very pleasing tube-distortion tone.Q: Can I use this with a microphone?A: Perhaps, but it might be better to use a dedicated microphone preamp.
