sale is for a very rare piece of Postwar Lionel Trains history... A nice original Louis Hertz book \"The Complete Book of Model Railroading\". The one thing that puts this book above all the others is this copy is signed by Louis Hertz and presented to \"Lawrence Cowen\" and dated September 24, 1951. We all know \"Lawrence\" is Joshua \"Lionel\" Cowen\'s son and one of the company\'sformer Presidents. I can honestly say I do not know how the book got into the secondary market, but I purchased it in a used book store in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1995. The book is exactly as found, no dust jacket, some minor wear on the spine at top and bottom. The binding is solid. The inscription is in blue ink and date is written out in long hand which is common to other Louis Hertz signed and dated books that I have in my collection. I have compared the signature to other examples / copies that I have and believe it to be a legitimate signature. Signature and presentation is on the first paper page of the book, just insidethe front cover. Yes, the price is high but I am open to reasonable offers.
