You are invited to offer on this beautifully made, early 20th century miniature oak keg or barrel. It is made of or richly coloured, beautifully figured oak, which has been skilfully finished. The keg has a practical use - it has a working tap and can be used to dispense shots of spirits or liqueurs - is even had two little cups that hang on hooks at the sides. There is also a little bucket that hangs below the tap to catch drips. The barrel is filled through a hole in the top with chromed metal stopper. Round the barrel are chromed metal bands, and on the front is a small plaque. This has moulded decoration round the edges featuring grapes, leaves and flowers, surrounding a vacant cartouche. The barrel stands on 4 wooden legs. This charming piece would look great in a vintage bar area.
The keg measures 8\" tall at the stopper, by about 8\" long at the tap, by 6\" wide at the feet. I guess it dates to around the 1920s/30s. It bears no maker\'s marks. It is in great condition but could do with a good clean.
An unusual antique decorative piece, and a fine addition to your bar or woodenware collection. I am currently selling more vintage and antique breweriana and bar related items including corkscrews, bottle openers, drinks pourers, decanters, etc etc, so please keep an eye on my other sales.
I list lots of varied and interesting antique and vintage pieces every week, soplease keep and eye on my other sales and add me to your favourites list. I tend to sell items in roughly themed batches, so while I might be selling tins, toys or tobacciana this week, I could be selling vanity items, glassware, tribal art or jewellery next week.
