The TS-2 is made of brass and Brazilian rosewood. The TS-2 is the largest of the Bridge City Tool Works fixed blade squares. The blade is 8" long. This Master Try Squareis a very handy and well balanced tool. I have used it in my shop for many years. I purchased this tool at the Japan Woodworker store in Alameda California at their, I beleive, 1986yearly open house. I purchased that day, both the TS-1 and the TS-2 squares directly fromthe founder of Bridge City Tool Works, John Economaki, http://www.bridgecitytools.com/about, who was displaying his tools. In the 1980's, there were a lot of woodworking tool shows and John was at all the shows I attended. It was always fun to talk to John to see what his next tool was going to be. It doesn't add any thing to this tool, but it may be of interest, that at this paticular open house, the late master bowl turner, Bob was giving a bowl turning demo right across from where John Economaki was displaying his tools. Also, while I was wondering around the store, I bumped into my woodworking hero, the late Sam who as it turned out, was a very close friend of Bob Stocksdale. He was waiting for Bob to finish his demo. Mr. Maloof was gracious enough to talk toand give words of encouragement to who was then, a 20 something year old, overyly enthusiastic woodworker. I will never forget that encounter. Sam Maloof was probably the nicest most generous man I had ever met. Also, I think it amazing that three of the woodworker GREATS were all together there that day.I would like to pass this story on towhoever gets these tools. I hope both of these squares get to a good home.
This is an extremelyuseful tool for any Craftsman and is a MUST HAVE for your collection.
