Here is a Maco 500 base station amplifier. Amplifier is 250 watts and supports AM/FM modes and uses 4 6JG6A final tubes and 1 6AQ5A keyer tube. Item is in good cosmetic condition with minor signs of surface rust mostly inside the bottom and a couple paint chips. All lights and functions work as intended. Amp was used on the higher end of the 10 meters band in FM mode and worked well. Amp was put away for a few years and I recently pulled it off the shelf to sell and now seems like the keying relay is dirty and needs cleaned. Relay still engages and does a full 250 watts but when in stand by mode the signal from radio doesn\'t pass through well. I moved the relay while keyed up and radios signal will fully pass through. Best input drive seems to be 3 to 4 watts of carrier power and no more than 22 watts of peak power. Power supply main capacitors was replaced with new caps. Front meter is not connected but still moves a little bit when in use. Im thinking this is working off of inductance. Refer to pictures for all details. I don\'t want to mess with cleaning the relay simply cuz I don\'t wanna get bit for touching the wrong thing.
